Final Conquerer Posters

These are my final conquerer poster designs. All of my development work can be seen in previous blog posts. I’m happy with my final designs, I think I have a good range of work.

We used the software Motion to create a 3D animation of a rocket flying through space. It was a bit of a refresher for how to use Motion, and I actually really enjoyed it. It was really gratifying to see the finished article working nice and smoothly. I managed to get back into Motion quite quickly and after creating my little animation, I decided that I would watch some Motion tutorials and looks at creating my own title sequence.

Motion Graphics Title Sequence

I’m researching Motion title sequences, and I found this short motion graphics intro which I think is pretty good. I like the movement and colours and the simple yet effective animation of the text and the graphic elements.

Typographic Games Poster Six (In Progress)

This is the design I am currently working on. Excuse the fact that the writing looks terrible at the moment, I haven’t sorted it out yet! I wanted to include some kind of imagery for London as I hadn’t designed a poster with anything London-y on it so far. I found an image of the London Skyline and then traced it and filled it with colour in Photoshop. I decided that it was way too bland and boring without some kind of a background on it as well, and it should be something related to the Olympics as I realised that so far it was all about London but not the Olympics. I toyed with the idea of a javelin thrower but decided I would try making a running track as a background, which at the moment I’m not sure about but I’m going to play with the composition of the writing and the images and see what I can come up with.

Typographic Games Poster Five

This poster came about after developing my idea from the second poster design I did, which centred around the image of a diving board. I wanted to use the same idea but from a slightly different angle. I therefore decided to create this design which is someone looking down from the top of a diving board. I took a photograph of my own feet to use on the poster, and created the rest of the design in Photoshop. I don’t particularly like this design. I’m not sure what it is specifically but I really don’t like the design anymore! I spent a long time changing the colours of the text and background but I’m still not happy with it. I’m going to leave this design for now and go on to create my next design and see how I get on with that one.

As i’ve gone along I’ve had lots of little ideas for designs popping into my head, which is good as at the beginning of the project I had no ideas and was finding it very frustrating!!

Colours and Layouts

Working on colours and layouts for this poster design. Still experimenting.
